#69 "Bake N' Shake"
If you turn this week's comic upside down, you might notice Nathan looking a bit strange in that last panel. My original paper outline of him was done right side up, but that didn't remain so for the final inking. Thus, I made a number of errors that normally I wouldn't let slip by in the crafting of his figure. In my defense, I just couldn't see them. Actually, it turns out everything pretty much looks better upside down. Go ahead, try it. Just crank something out on a piece of paper in front of you and then give that bad boy the ol' 180. See all the flaws magically disappear? Pretty sweet, huh? Expect this bold tactic to be employed in every future Never You Mind from now on. I find that it improves my art a lot faster than, you know, practicing.
Also, last week we bade farewell to the beloved Naruto series. After a mere 220 episodes the last of its bits have now washed away from our bittorrent shores. But not from our hearts. Nor our memories. Especially not from our memories as the second series "Naruto: Shippuuden" just started up a few days ago. That's right the second class filler episodes are out and manga scripted shows are back in baby! Now if you'll excuse me, I have an old habit to attend to. |

Whoa, it got uploaded late. I can only plead... frapuccino. Matcha. It doesn't taste as good as real maccha, sadly, but I expect it is because the spellings are so different. I'll have to try that Daniel mentioned... but I think that, any changes in direction I've made in my previous art has always been for the worst. Typically, I am speaking of horizontal flips (or mirror-images, if you will), where the sides are reversed. I shudder to recall.
If you have nothing better to do, watch "Ghost Hunt." It is a great anime, fansubbed by Shinsen Subs, and I cannot get enough of it. I've started watching less anime lately, so this series must be special to keep me watching. Just go now. |
